Applying with a non-thesis MA
An applicant who has a non-thesis MA degree
Such an applicant may apply to become a “Research student candidate” (code 60). If so registered, the applicant will have to write an MA thesis in the program and take additional academic courses as determined by the committee. Once accepted as a research student candidate, the student can start with the approval of their adviser.
The MA thesis should be written within one year. The cost is approximately 5000 shekels for Israeli citizens and approximately 6000 shekels for foreign students.
The evaluators of the thesis will be at lecturer level or above.
In order to proceed and become a PhD student, the applicant must receive a minimal grade of 90% from each of the thesis evaluators.
