Academic Calendar

The Academic Calendar is updated each year in October before the start of the new academic year. The calendar and course selections are similar from year to year and are an example of what you can expect in the next year although dates will change. 

  • 2017-2018

 

In the Israeli system, students are expected to complete papers and assignments during the inter-semester periods; as such, please DO NOT make extensive travel plans until you have a firm understanding of the exam schedule and how much studying (including group work) you will need to do between semesters. 

 

Please note that exams and final assignments are assigned during the inter-semester exam periods and after the graduation ceremony.

 

Orientation Week: October 16 - 19, 2017

 

Beginning of academic year; first day of the fall semester: October 22, 2017

 

Last day of the fall semester classes: January 18, 2018

 

Inter-semester exam period/paper writing: January 19 -  February 17, 2018

 

Mediation Workshop (mandatory): February 18 - 27, 2018

 

Purim holiday (campus closed): March 1, 2018

 

First day of spring semester: March 4, 2018

 

Passover Holiday Break (campus closed): March 30 - April 7, 2018 

 

Memorial and Independence Days (campus closed): April 18-19, 2018

 

Students' Day (no classes): TBD

 

Shavuot Holiday (campus closed): May 20, 2018

 

Last day of spring semester: June 14, 2018

 

Inter-semester exam period/paper writing: June 15 - July 7, 2018

 

First day of summer semester: July 8, 2018

 

Tisha B'av Fast Day (campus closed): July 22, 2018

Last day of summer classes: August 24, 2018

 

Summer vacation (university closed): August 25 - September 1, 2018

 

Graduation Ceremony: August 16, 2018
