Academic Calendar

The Academic Calendar is updated each year in October before the start of the new academic year. The calendar and course selections are similar from year to year and are an example of what you can expect in the next year although dates will change.

In the Israeli system, students are expected to complete papers and assignments during the inter-semester periods; as such, please DO NOT make extensive travel plans until you have a firm understanding of the exam schedule and how much studying (including group work) you will need to do between semesters. 


Please note that exams and final assignments are assigned during the inter-semester exam periods and after the graduation ceremony.


Orientation: October 23 - 28, 2019


Beginning of academic year; first day of the fall semester: October 29, 2019


Christmas break: December 24-25, 2019


Last day of the fall semester classes: January 26, 2020


Inter-semester exam period/paper writing: January 30 -  February 22, 2020


Mediation Workshop (mandatory): February 24 - March 4, 2020 (tentative dates)


First day of spring semester: March 5, 2020


Purim holiday (campus closed): March 10, 2020 


Passover Holiday Break (campus closed): April 8 - 15, 2020


Memorial and Independence Days (campus closed): April 28-29, 2020


Shavuot Holiday (campus closed): May 28-29, 2020


Students' Day (no classes after 12:00): June 4, 2020


Last day of spring semester: June 18, 2020


Inter-semester exam period/paper writing: June 19 - July 18, 2020


Spring assignment due: July 18, 2020


First day of summer semester: July 19, 2020


Tisha B'av Fast Day (campus closed): July 30, 2020

Last day of summer classes: August 20, 2020


End of Year Ceremony: August 20, 2020


Summer vacation (university closed): August 22 - 29, 2020


Final program cumulative assignment due: September 30, 2020
