Educational Trips

The International Program in Conflict Resolution and Mediation provides its students a series of program and course trips within Israel to better understand different aspects of conflicts and conflict resolution. Each year the trips vary based on the interests of the students and access. Here is a list of trips the program generally provides:

  • Orientation trip: to the north of Israel visiting the Lebanese and Syrian borders, understanding the various conflicts in Israel and the region as case studies in conflict.
  • Middle Eastern History trip: to the Gaza area in Israel to understand the history of pre-state Jewish and Palestinian settlement and Palestinian and Israeli modern history.
  • International Law trip: to Jerusalem area to see the separation barrier between Israel and the West Bank. The tour is given by the architect who built the barrier.
  • Israeli Politics and Society: trip to the Israeli parliament (Knesset) and Supreme Court.
  • Environment, Conflict and Cooperation: trip to the Dead Sea region to understand the environmental impacts on Israeli and Palestinian societies.
  • Field trip to the Gaza area within Israel to speak with Jewish and Arab communities.
