Scholarships and Financial Aid

There are multiple scholarship opportunities for students of the program. Please read through each of the tabs to determine which scholarships are appropriate for you. Students are welcome to apply for more than one scholarship.

The Alexandra Ruth Seaman Scholarship for Women is a scholarship for female students who plan to be leaders in their communities and strive to work in or for the betterment of zones of conflict around the world. The International Program in Conflict Resolution and Mediation will grant up to $21,250 a year total in scholarship funding for up to 3 outstanding applicants per year- either one full scholarship or three partial scholarships.

How to apply

In order to be eligible for the scholarship, candidates must apply according to the program’s admission requirements and be accepted by the program. The application fee cannot be waived for any reason. Applicants must be able to enter Israel.

  • Once accepted, candidates can apply for the scholarship by sending an email with the subject “Alexandra Seaman Scholarship for Women application” to the program director (resolute@tauex.tau.ac.il) outlining in 1000-1500 words their justification for receiving the scholarship (see the selection criteria below), as well as how their studies in the program will benefit their home community/other conflict-driven communities. The deadline for scholarship applicants is July 1.

  • The Admission Committee may choose to interview the applicant by Zoom/phone. Applicants will be notified of the results by July 15 and asked to confirm their participation in the program by paying the US$1000 confirmation fee. A recipient who does not pay the confirmation fees by the deadline given, automatically forfeits the scholarship and another applicant may be chosen.

  • Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit and applications are carefully considered by the program Admission’s Committee. Decisions are based on the funds available for the program and academic considerations, such as the candidate’s academic excellence, the usefulness of the subject to their home country, their leadership potential, their future career goals and their ability to make practical use of the knowledge.

Note: Scholarship recipients cannot receive other funding from the MA in Conflict Resolution and Mediation program but are encouraged to access other scholarships outside the program.

  • Funding goes directly towards program tuition and Tel Aviv University student dormitories. Confirmation fees are not included.
